When pressed about President Donald Trump's executive order rejecting transgender ideology, Canadian Conservative Party Leader Pierre Poilievre challenged a journalist to name any gender except “men and women.”

On his first day in office, Trump declared: “As of today, it will be the official policy of the United States government from now on to have Unisex only, The executive order, “Defending Women from Gender Ideological Extremism and Returning Biological Truth to the Federal Government,” was part of a wave of reforms against the excesses of far-left identity politics in the U.S. government.

CP24 News host Phil Perkins spoke about the executive order during his interview with Poilievre, the politician many believe is him. Most likely to replace Current Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

The host asked: “If you're elected prime minister, is that something that you would kind of go with? Or what are your feelings about this executive order?”

“Well, I don't know. Do you have any other races you'd like to name?” Poilievre asked dryly.

The host repeated his question: “I'm just asking for more, so if you agree with what he's saying. Do you agree with what he's saying? Is this something you would follow if you were elected Prime Minister?”

“Well, I'm not aware of any other gender other than men and women. I mean, if you have any other gender you want me to consider, you're welcome to tell me now,” the Canadian conservative leader said.

“Well, there is… well, there is… I personally am a man,” Perkins tried to explain, saying that some might refer to him as a “cis man.”

“Me too. I'm a man too,” Poilievre replied, adding: “We have something in common.”

“You're a man, yes,” Perkins said. “There are people who say they're gender neutral, they're trans people. Is that something you'd recognize here? Whereas in the United States, at least with their American government, the way they see it, there's only two?”

“I'm only aware of two,” Poilievre replied, “but, I mean, if you have — if you come up with another list, you're welcome to do that. But I'm aware of two of them.” “As far as I'm concerned, we should have a government that minds its own damn business and leaves people alone.”

When asked who News host On whether passports containing other gender identities should be recognised, the Canadian Conservative leader said there are more pressing issues at hand.

“I have to be honest with you. I just saw your part about the homeless encampments popping up all over Toronto. We have 25 per cent of our population living in poverty, housing costs have doubled, and crime is rampant on our streets. “Some time to talk about this is a strange priority.”

He went on to detail what he prefers to focus on to improve his life Canadian citizens.

“My priority is to take back control of their lives and restore Canada's promise that anyone who works hard gets a solid paycheck and a pension buys affordable food, gas and homes in safe neighbourhoods. This is the promise we need for Canadians,” Poilievre said.

He added: “If the Liberals want to talk about the different gender classifications they want to put on passports in the United States, they can do that. I will talk about the things that will bring home the promise of Canada.”

Trump's executive order calls For passports and all government-issued ID cards to “accurately reflect the gender of the holder,” which reflects the Biden administration’s decision to allow “X” as a gender marker.
