A 71-year-old woman gave a group of would-be teenage thieves a taste of their own medicine when they tried to rob an elderly woman on her way to church on New Year's Day.

The victim was on her way to a church service on New Year's Day in Brooklyn around 6 p.m. when she got off the 3 train at Hoyt Station — only to be attacked by the teens, according to the NYPD and the NYPD. New York Post a report.
Police say the four suspects tried to steal the woman's bag and hit her on the body. The NYPD released a video of the group smiling as they passed through the subway turnstiles and police say they remain at large. They have asked for the public's help in tracking them down.
The woman, identified by the newspaper as Linda Rosa of East New York, detailed the disturbing attack to the newspaper, saying she was adamant she would not be robbed.
Rosa said after one teen tried to grab her purse while another also tried to put her sticky fingers on her, asking her if she wanted to fight.
She added that the first teenager hit Rosa in the face, causing her glasses to fall to the ground, while the second teenager was able to grab a pocket bag containing Rosa's identity and medical records.
“I was still wrestling with the first person,” Rosa told the newspaper. “Then I was trying to kick her between her legs, but my legs didn't extend far enough, so I think that's when I fell. She fell, and then she stepped on me.”
Rosa said she feared the lawless teens would stomp on her head, and she said she resisted.
“She immediately got up, and with that I grabbed her braids and wrapped them around my right hand, then pulled her down. She lowered her head,” Rosa said. Then the other young woman said, “Let her go.” I said, “Oh, no, I won’t let her go.”
The brave old woman screamed for someone to help her and then the second teenager came for her again.
“Suddenly, I grabbed her hair and wrapped it around my left hand,” Rosa said. “So I put them face down… (like) rams when they get ready to fight.”
Rosa said the other teens yelled at her to let them go, and Rosa then screamed for help.
Eventually the elder cut them off and the distraught teens exited the subway system.
Rosa then drove to the nearby Brooklyn Tabernacle Church, where staff attended to her and called 911, according to the post.
Tell the police Fox News Digital reported that the victim suffered minor injuries and was taken by EMS to Brooklyn Hospital Center in stable condition.
She told the newspaper she was grateful they did not have weapons and that the frightening ordeal did not cause a heart attack.
However, she said she forgives them.
“They don’t know what to do,” Rosa told the newspaper. “They don't know what they did. They're just teenagers being stupid.”
She said no one is safe in New York City's subway system or on the streets these days.
““It can happen to anyone,” Rosa said. “Now we see elderly people being attacked. Anywhere – it can happen anywhere, at any station. You could be walking down the street. You could be crossing the street.”
