Shelton, 48, laughed about how much she hates his arm ink while chatting with him CMT On Thursday, January 23rd. “You know, they say tattoos are addictive,” Shelton said, pointing to the design that wraps around his forearm. “I got this tattoo about 20 years ago and decided — for now — one of the worst mistakes of my life.”
“I'm never doing it again,” the country singer said. “I stuck to it.”

Back in 2013, Shelton opened up about what the tattoo was, sharing that his original vision was to have deer tracks wandering around his arm, per NBC.
When he arrived at the tattoo parlor, neither he nor the artist knew exactly what deer tracks would look like, so they collaborated and created an artistic interpretation of what they imagined.
Shelton later added barbed wire surrounding the tracks in hopes it would help hide the blobs.
The “God's Country” singer isn't the only artist in Hollywood having second thoughts about tattoos. Fellow country star Jelly rollwhich is covered in ink, he said GQ In March 2024, he regrets “98 percent” of his body art.
At the time, he explained that his extensive collection began when he was just 17 years old and decided to draw a set of his “core philosophies” in his skin.
