WASHINGTON (Reuters) – President Joe Biden signed 50 bills into law on Tuesday that include making the bald eagle the nation's official bird and barring members of Congress from collecting their pensions if they are convicted of crimes.

Biden also created the first federal anti-hazing standard to address violence and deaths occurring on higher education campuses across the country. He also signed a bill backed by reality TV star and heiress Paris Hilton that would hold treatment centers and care facilities that serve youth accountable.

The flurry of activity comes as Biden advances his final priorities before handing power to President-elect Donald Trump on January 20.

He is also wrapping up his term in office by obtaining funds previously approved by Congress for infrastructure projects at home and weapons for Ukraine.
