Barcelona are reportedly considering moving their Clásico clash with Real Madrid in May to a foreign location if their renovated Camp Nou stadium is not ready in time.

Barcelona's refurbished stadium is already behind schedule and there are fears it will not be completed for the match scheduled for the weekend of May 10-11.

The Catalan club has already extended its temporary stay at Barcelona's Estadi Olimpic Lluis until the end of April, but this agreement cannot go beyond this date with the venue due to the organization of a series of high-profile concerts in May.

On El Clásico weekend, the Rolling Stones are booked to perform at the Olympic Stadium, leaving Barcelona in a race against time.

The report, broadcast by local radio station Ser Catalunya, says the club will consider moving the match to a “largest stadium in Europe”, although no specific details were provided.

If Barcelona is forced to do so, it will have to obtain permission from the Spanish League and the Spanish Football Federation, as well as Real Madrid.

After 20 rounds in the Primera Division, Real Madrid leads the standings by two points over rivals Atletico. Barcelona occupies third place, another five points behind.
