This knock came on the heels of 40 off 98 balls in the first innings, demonstrating his ability to adapt to the demands of the game while maintaining his flair. His batting average in the second innings was a staggering 184, a number that far outpaces the majority of the other batsmen in this match who struggled to maintain a batting average above 50.

Tendulkar, who is often considered one of the greatest cricketers of all time, took to social media to express his admiration for Pant's innings. Tendulkar praised Pant's extraordinary innings on a difficult pitch where most batsmen struggled to score at a strike rate of 50 or less. The former India captain highlighted the entertainment value and massive impact of Pant's brave knocks, underscoring how they disrupted Australia's game plan and turned the match on its head.

“On a wicket where the majority of batsmen have batted for 50 SAR or less, @RishabhPant17's knock of 184 SAR is truly remarkable. He rocked Australia from the first ball. It's always fun to watch him bat. What an emotional innings!” Tendulkar wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

Pant shone on a challenging SCG pitch

The SCG was a challenge for the batsmen in this Test, providing movement and bounce that made scoring difficult. That Pant was able to score at such a high rate under these conditions is a testament to his talent and courage. His innings in the second part of the match particularly caught the eye, as he came out with clear intent to dominate the Australian bowling attack from the start.
