Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk has spoken about his long-term contract situation, stating that he does not have any sort of update at the moment.
The Netherlands international remains a very important player for Liverpool, and fans will no doubt be desperate to see him commit his future to the club.
Liverpool players had to be fired in a major dispute after the Manchester United match!
However, Van Dijk has been asked about his Liverpool contract, which is set to expire at the end of the season, on several occasions this season, and his answer has been almost the same each time.
See below where Fabrizio Romano quotes Van Dijk where he once again says he doesn't have a big update to talk about…

Van Dijk said: Nothing (in the contract). But I'm calm about it, as I said months ago. We'll see what happens in the future, at this point I have no update at all.
Liverpool certainly need to keep hold of the 33-year-old, who remains one of the best defenders in the world, but this is another huge saga that only seems to keep going.
Can Liverpool keep its stars?
In addition to Van Dijk, Liverpool are also eyeing Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold to become free agents in a few months' time.
It would be an absolute disaster for the Reds to lose these three big names for nothing, and it is absolutely baffling that the club has allowed the situation to get to this point.
Fabrizio Romano said recently Caught out That Liverpool was confident in Van Dijk And Salah, so fans will have to hope there's a more concrete update on that soon.
Alexander Arnold's position may seem less optimistic From Liverpool's perspective, Real Madrid are seeking to sign the England international as their number one target at right-back.
