Will Mikel Arteta bring Nepan Ambassador to Arsenal?

“Safir Nepan is a player who has been on the radar of almost every top club in Europe over the last year or so,” Watts said.

“Arsenal is one of those clubs where some reports from Norway suggest they are in first place to sign him.

“I can't confirm if that's the case at the moment, but he's an interesting player and would be an exciting addition, if they get a deal over the line because the 18-year-old has already shown how special he is.” The talent he has with his performances for Rosenborg since he made his debut at just 15 years old.

“It's not the kind of signing you'd expect to make an immediate impression on the first team, but it's the kind of signing Arsenal will be looking to make more of moving forward.

“The club is making a real effort to bring in top talent now at a young age and has allocated some of its transfer budget to do just that.

“We saw them bring in goalkeeper Tommy Setford from Ajax last summer as part of that plan and a signing for Nebban will follow, although he will arrive with much more experience given the number of games he has already played for Rosenborg.”
