Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta has admitted that Leandro Trossard can be a difficult character to work with in some ways, but that is also part of what he likes about him as a player.

Trossard performed well during his time at Emirates Stadiumalthough he often had to take on a bench role, as he has a tendency to work well as a kind of super-sub.

However, Arteta also clarified the matter How much is the Belgian international worth?In his last press conference, he spoke about his insistence on the character.

The Spanish tactician admits that Trossard can be difficult due to him being a bit of a 'whiny', whether it is in training or with the referees during matches.

However, he feels that one positive thing about this is that Trossard tends to react strongly if he finds himself out of the team, as he likes to try and prove his manager wrong.

When asked about Trossard in his press conference ahead of the Brentford match, Arteta said: “He is a player I admire a lot, and we value him a lot.

“He is versatile, very competitive and always a big goal threat.”

He added: “It's normal for Leo to be a bit grumpy. But I like it because he's very competitive… In training, he's always busy with the referees' decisions, because he wants to win, and that's what I like.

“When he's not there, he's not happy, but that's what drives him, and when he comes on the field, he has that hunger, 'I'll show you'.”

Trossard scored 17 goals in all competitions with Arsenal last season, and has four goals so far this season.

The 30-year-old is sure to add to that number as the season continues, with Arteta clearly seeing an important role for him in this team.
