Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., attacked the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) for defending what she claimed was “Heil Hitler saluteWritten by X CEO Elon Musk on Monday.
Musk spoke at President Trump's inauguration at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C., where he enthusiastically addressed the crowd.
“This is what victory looks like! This was no ordinary victory, this was a crossroads of human civilization… I just want to say thank you for making this happen, thank you. From my heart to yours,” Musk said. The roaring crowd of MAGA believers. The SpaceX CEO placed his hand over his heart, then extended his hand to the audience.
Many media outlets and commentators quickly accused Musk of giving the Nazi salute. However, ADL later wrote on X that she thought it was just an enthusiastic gesture.
“This is a sensitive moment. It's a new day and yet there are so many people on edge. Our politics are on fire, and social media is adding to the anxiety. It seems like @elonmusk made a strange gesture in a moment of excitement, not in a moment of excitement.” Nazi salute, but again, we appreciate that people are on the edge, and in this moment, all parties should give each other a little grace, and maybe the benefit of the doubt, and take a breath, and this is a new beginning in order to heal and work on unity in “Months and years ahead,” the ADL wrote.
The Anti-Defamation League's mission is “to stop the defamation of the Jewish people, and to ensure justice and fair treatment for all.”
Ocasio-Cortez did not believe the statement and accused the organization of defending the Nazi salute.
“Just to be clear, you are advocating for the Heil Hitler salute to be performed and repeated for emphasis and clarity. People can officially stop listening to you as any reliable source of information now. You are working for them. Thank you for doing this.” “Absolutely clear to everyone,” Ocasio-Cortez wrote.
Fox News Digital I have reached out to ADL for comment.
Former ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt Ocasio-Cortez and other House members criticized Members in 2023 due to their hard-line positions on the war between Israel and Gaza.
“I think Rashida Tlaib has been marginalized in her district. And like AOC, I don't see her in the media anymore. I think these individuals with their extremist ideas have marginalized themselves,” Greenblatt told Fox News Digital. the time.
AOC is in a tailspin after responding to Elon Musk saying she's 'not smart'
“So, I think AOC doesn't matter that much. She's one of 430 people, or Tlaib or Ilhan Omar, and we don't need to give them more leverage because you're already seeing that their influence has diminished and,” Greenblatt continued, “they've weakened in the last few years as “Their positions have become more radical, and they have reduced their ability, I think, to reach a broader audience.” “There are extremist voices on all sides. Let's leave them on the sidelines where they belong.”
