America's Next Top Model winner Adrian Curry She talks about how breast implant extract changed her perception — and her life.
“Five years after breast implants, I have had a complete transformation,” Curry, 42, wrote on his website. X Monday, January 6th. “The first year, I cried nonstop. I lost over 90% of my natural breasts due to necrosis and refused a fat transfer. I wasn't willing to risk my health anymore for vanity. I've had a crash course in humility and nakedness.
“Breast implant extraction,” also called “breast implant removal” or “implantation,” is a surgical procedure in which a doctor removes previously placed silicone or saline implants, according to Cleveland Clinic. While some people undergo surgery to remove the implant due to hardening of the tissue around the implant or other complications, others may undergo surgery to replace old implants with new ones.
Carey detailed the grueling surgery and post-surgery process on Monday, sharing with her husband, Matthew RuddI had to “cut all my stitches due to living far away and the weather.”
She continued: “I fell to my knees in humility and entered the fire of my arrogance as I died.” “It took them two full years for them to settle down and become human. My husband has been my rock… and I can’t believe how upset he is with my honesty.”
Five years later, Curry – who won the first round of America's Next Top Model In 2003 – “happy and healthy”, and would not “wish plastic surgery” on her “worst enemy”.
“It did nothing to alleviate my body disfigurement and only gave me years of suffering,” she explained, adding: “Be OK with who you are and what you are. In my case, with much less than I was.
Following her vulnerable post, people flocked to the comments section to praise Carey for being so honest about her experience with plastic surgery. When a fan thanked the model for “sharing what I can't imagine being easy to share,” Curry replied, “If I can stop anyone from mutilating their healthy bodies with this….then it's not a lesson wasted.”

Another person revealed that they sent Carrie's post to their daughter, who was considering getting an organ transplant herself. “Dear God, I hope she doesn't mutilate her body,” Carey responded.
Elsewhere in the comments section, Carey admitted that she holds herself “100 percent responsible” for her breast implants and for making what she now considers “an uneducated, life-changing decision.”
The former reality TV star also explained that she did not get the implant because of cancer or illness, but because of “stupidity, vanity and body dysmorphia,” noting that she initially got the implants because half of her chest was “closed,” but they didn’t. Don't “fix it”.
Curry rose to fame in the first season of Ants In 2003, where she landed a modeling contract, brand deals, and more. After nine years in the fashion industry — and a short stint on a VH1 reality show My fair brady With the first husband Christopher Knight -I moved away from the industry. She and Rod went on to tie the knot in 2018.
Last month, Carey took to social media to reveal that she and Rose have been living “very apart” for the past seven years. “I can go months without being stuck (with) anyone other than my husband,” she shared via X at the time. “My life is lived in the glorious silence of the wilderness.”
“I get tired easily in big groups/cities now,” she added. It may take days to decompress from the experience.
“I'm more in tune with the earth than I've ever been in my life,” she explained. “My awareness of the forest and what is going on around me is very acute.”
Several hours later, Carey shared another photo of her Montana paradise via Instagram, captioning the shot, “There's no place you can be in this place. It's meant to be. It's easy. All you need is love.”
