Former German adviser Angela Merkel criticized her party leader for passing a proposal in Parliament with the support of the far -right alternative to Germany (AFD).

In a statement, Merkel, CDU leader Friedrich Mirz, accused his back on a previous pledge not to work with AFD at Bundesag.

Parliament descended to Hikalz on Wednesday After voices were passed from the right -wing party to pass the unrelated CDU suggestion on the totally of the rules of immigration.

This is very unusual intervention by the woman who has led Germany for 16 years, and enters to criticize the actions of her former political rival.

Mirz, who tends to be the next German advisor due to CDU in opinion polls, said on Wednesday that the policy was not wrong just because “the wrong people are returning this” and that he did not ask for AFD support.

But Merkel accused him of violating his pledge in November to work with the Social Democratic Party to pass legislation, not AFD.

This was to ensure “neither in determining the agenda nor in voting in this matter here in the House of Representatives, there will be random or already led to a majority with those from AFD,” Read a quote from Mirz in Merkel's statement.

The former chancellor said that she fully supported this “expressing great government political responsibility.”

“I think it is wrong not to feel committed to this proposal, and thus allow AFD intentionally to obtain a majority in a vote in German Bundestag on January 29, 2025 for the first time.”

“All democratic parties need to work together,” to do everything in their power to prevent such terrible attacks in the future, such as those that occurred shortly before Christmas in Magdburg and a few days ago in Achushaneburg, “said all democratic parties.

This is a rare intervention from Merkel.

The criticism of her own party candidate for the consultant – just weeks before the elections – is a big step and will add missile fuel to an explosive story already in German politics.

Merkel and Mires return a long way – not the best friends.

Merkel was famous for in the early first decade of the twentieth century after she won the power struggle in CDU.

Mirz will continue to quit politics in the front line for many years before his return.

Since then, Merkel's legacy – especially her dealing with the immigration crisis.

They also have completely different visions of the party, as Merkel is seen as a more realistic centrality and Mirz from the traditional and conservative wing in CDU.

On Wednesday's taboo voting has long been broken in German policy – Mirz is also scheduled to suggest Friday's legislation that AFD could support.

The current German counselor, Olaf Schools, described a “unforgivable mistake”.

“Since the founding of the Federal Republic of Germany more than 75 years ago, there has always been a clear consensus among all Democrats in our parliaments: we are not a common issue with the far right,” he said.
