There are plenty of post-apocalyptic movies out there, but most of them share the same problem: in the end, you'll feel just as miserable as the characters on screen. Too many directors think the key to the genre is simply to give us scene after scene of bleak despair, but what audiences really want is a film that uses a fictional future apocalypse as a lens to help us understand the present day. And if you're ready for the kind of post-apocalyptic movie full of crunchy philosophical questions and killer action sequences, it's time to watch Tom Cruise's movie Forgetting on Netflix.

The plot and actors are forgettable

Given the aforementioned high production value, these scenes, like the rest of the film, are astonishingly good.
