Two other polls were also conducted in recent days and were released on Wednesday, shedding more light on how Americans feel about the incoming administration and how Trump is handling the process of building his government.

Meanwhile, 47% of people asked in the Marist poll liked the former and future president when it came to how he handled the transition, with 39% disapproving and 14% unsure.

In the Marist poll, 86% of Republicans approved of how the president-elect from the Republican Party would handle the transition. However, 72% of Democrats rejected this. Among independents, 43% rejected and 38% approved.

“Although more people support Trump's transition than oppose it, more independents are taking a wait-and-see stance than partisan voters.” Marist Institute of Public Opinion Director Lee Miringoff said.

“The note of caution for President-elect Trump is that fewer voters approve of the transition than those who liked Biden or Obama at this point,” Miringoff added.

The release of the polls came as members of Trump's Cabinet continued to meet with senators on Capitol Hill ahead of confirmation hearings that begin next month.

Last weekend, Trump made his first international trip since his election victory last month, and world leaders courted him during their stop in Paris.

Trump is scheduled to be inaugurated on January 20.
