Arsenal hosted Newcastle in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final on Tuesday evening and one of the Gunners' goals in the 2025 summer transfer window showed why the north London club would want to add him to their squad.
The competition offers both clubs the opportunity to add a trophy to their coffers as Mikel Arteta's men have not won a trophy since 2020, while Newcastle as a whole have not lifted major silverware since winning the FA Cup in 1955.
Eddie Howe's side entered the game in style and although the home side had the better of the two teams, the Magpies took the lead in the 37th minute thanks to Alexander Isak.
Mikel Arteta is a big fan of the €58m star but he requires a special effort from Arsenal's owners
The Swedish striker produced a stunning finish from the underside of the crossbar to take his tally to 14 goals in the 25-year-old's last 15 games, while taking his total for the season to 15 goals and four assists in 22 appearances.
“He's done it again,” the Sky Sports commentator said. Isak showed exactly why Arsenal are interested in the striker Ahead of the 2025 summer transfer window, with Mikel Arteta keen to add some firepower to his attack.

Arsenal must do everything they can for Alexander Isak
Arsenal have been linked with several strikers Ahead of the 2024/25 season it was clearly an area of the pitch that Arteta wanted to address. After failing to sign a striker last summer, that should happen during the next transfer window.
Isak would be a great option for the north London club as the Newcastle star has shown he is one of the best strikers in the world throughout the first half of the season.
He states that it will take 150 million pounds sterling To lure the 25-year-old away from St James' Park, and if the Sweden international can continue his current form, it could be worth it for Arsenal to match that asking price.
