The assistant, Anastasia Alexeyeva, was sentenced to 12 years in prison last April, accused of accepting bribes in exchange for two expensive holiday trips abroad.

Dvorkovich was deputy prime minister under former Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev from 2012 to 2018. Dvorkovich currently heads the International Chess Federation (FIDE).
