Ducks infected with avian influenza, also known as poultry influenza, are collected and placed in a container at the Pommernhof in Zarniwanz near Rostock, Mecklenburg-West Pomerania on November 28, 2024 in Zarniwanz, Germany. More than 13,000 ducks are killed here due to the discovery of the H5N1 virus in the animals. This is already the second outbreak of bird flu on this farm this year. It is assumed that the virus was transmitted by collared crabs.
