Former French international player Adel Rami responded to Cristiano Ronaldo after the Al-Nasr star claimed that the Saudi Professional League is better than the French League.
The former Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus player made these comments after receiving the Middle East Player of the Year award at the Globe Soccer Awards ceremony in Dubai on Friday.
The 39-year-old has had an impressive start to the season, scoring ten goals and providing two assists in 12 appearances. Al-Nasr currently ranks fourth in the league.
Ronaldo said: โThe Saudi League is better than the French League, of course.
“France only has PSG. The rest is done. Try running fast in 38, 39, 40 degree weather and see.
Former Lille and Marseille defender Rami, while speaking on a Twitch live stream, responded to Ronaldo's claim: “He talks ridiculous. You want me to show you pictures of defenders in Saudi Arabia. Not because he's had a crazy career, as soon as he says something become the truth.

โI think it's a PR stunt. We have defenders, they are machines. You put him in the French League and he gets eaten.
“Cristiano Ronaldo, you know, I admire him. I'm team Cristiano Ronaldo but he made a mistake. When he says that the Saudi championship is better than the championship in France, he brings a lot of people with him.”
Along with the English Premier League, the German Bundesliga, the Italian League and the Spanish League, the French League is considered one of the top five divisions in Europe.
However, only one French team – Marseille in 1993 – has ever managed to win the Champions League or European Cup.
In comparison, Spanish clubs have lifted the cup 20 times, followed by English clubs 15 times. Italian teams won the tournament 12 times, while German clubs won eight times.
France ranks seventh on the list, behind the Netherlands with six wins and Portugal with four.
