A Connecticut man He faces multiple charges in the deaths of a mother and her infant son, whom they allegedly killed over money owed to him.
New details about the November arrest of Lance “Macho” Morales, 23, were revealed after he made his first appearance in a courtroom in Hartford, Connecticut, on Monday.
Morales is accused of killing 20-year-old Jessia Mercado and her 4-month-old son, Misia Diaz, in a drive-by shooting on Nov. 19.
The Associated Press reported that the arrest warrant alleges that Morales opened fire on the car in which the two were traveling because Mercado owed him $400 for use of a Mazda SUV.
He charged her $100 a day to rent the car, and she was reportedly late with payments.

Two other people were inside the car during the brazen crime, but only one of them was injured.

Morales is accused Two counts of murder, assault and other crimes, and faces life in prison without parole if convicted.
He was ordered held on $5 million bail during Monday's court hearing.
