Police responded to a 911 call just after 6 a.m. Sunday of a crying baby and discovered that someone had placed an infant wrapped in blankets inside a carrier bag and left the bag in front of an apartment building on Rev. James A. Street. Paulette, according to officials.
NYPD said child, who has not yet been identified, was transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi in stable condition and remains under the care of hospital staff.
“It's very upsetting to hear about this for this neighborhood,” one local resident told FOX 5 NY.
