The school board meeting turned into a show of hysterical, competing shouting Concerned parents and transgender activists Thursday night amid a national controversy over a transgender athlete on the cross country team.
Riverside Unified School District (RUSD) held a Board of Directors meeting in her office in Riverside, California, to address concerns about student-athletes at Martin Luther King High School penalizing students for wearing “Save Girls Sports” T-shirts.
The meeting came after weeks of preparations in which hundreds of students at Martin Luther King High School and other schools in the area wore the shirts against the school's wishes. Hundreds of students rallied to wear the shirts every Wednesday, and many were detained for wearing them, until schools abandoned student discipline the week of December 11.
Before the meeting, competing protests between pro-trans activists and “Save Girls Sports” activists gathered outside the RUSD district office.
Once the meeting began, speakers were invited to share their thoughts on the situation. Many of the parents who spoke out against the district allowing a trans athlete to compete with girls came out wearing the shirts themselves.

One of the first parents to speak out against the district allowing transgender inclusion was a mother identified only as Sandy R. The mother complained hysterically about her name being revealed to pro-trans activists outside the assembly room. She feared she would be “doxxed” for her positions and said she intended to file a harassment complaint.
Sandy then criticized the entire board for defying Title IX in favor of California law.
Another parent noted that the district's science curriculum includes textbooks that teach genetic differences between biological males and females. The mother took out her ninth-grade biology textbook at school and read a paragraph explaining that males are born with XY chromosomes while females are born with XX chromosomes.
She then uploaded pictures of students who were punished for wearing T-shirts reading “XX (does not equal) XY.”
“This is what you did to the students who wore the shirt I'm wearing tonight, for claiming a biological fact that's in your textbook, and that's part of your curriculum. Are we going to put tape on textbooks next? Is that what's going to happen? If that happens, we won't be teaching science ?” I shouted. “You are denying biological facts so as not to hurt someone's feelings, and that is not acceptable!”
The mother then pointed to an allegation in a recent lawsuit filed by two female cross-country runners at the school that the school compared their jerseys to swastikas.
Another mother, identified only as Colleen, was already screaming before she even approached the podium, criticizing the board for allowing pro-trans activists in the office to encourage pro-trans sentiments, and comparing it to their treatment of young males who want to switch to women's sports to get A competitive advantage.
“Your job is to teach these people self-control, and you're not doing it!” I shouted. “It's all about their self-esteem, and you're setting them up to fail! They're not going to leave the world to them. The world's not going to adapt because I can't succeed in this sport, so now I'm joining this sport because I can do better out there, it's ridiculous! Do your job! Learn These kids restrain themselves before it's too late!
Later, a mother named Maria Carrillo began her speech by warning all the children in the room to leave. She then recited sexually explicit lines from school-approved books available in RUSD middle schools to make a point, before criticizing the school for describing the parents in question as “MAGA instigators and disruptors.”
“We are parents here taking care of our children, and we are using our constitutional right to talk to you guys, you are the leaders of our community, about our children’s issues,” she said. “I want to know why the teachers union is sending us emails calling us cruel.”
One mother named Patti Clauda, who spoke in Spanish with the help of an English translator, began her tirade by mocking the school board for not knowing the difference between men and women before expressing her fear that girls would have to share locker rooms with biological males. .
“They change in front of men!” She said through the translator.
At the end of her sermon, Clauda abandoned her translator and spoke in English directly to the blackboard, screaming at the top of her lungs.
“What I actually find most disturbing is that there are real biological women standing before me, and you are not standing up for the young women in this school district, and you are allowing these young women to be abused, harassed, and discriminated against! You are creating a hostile environment for these children to get their education, shame on you.” Everyone!” Claudia screamed.
Several concerned parents called for Superintendent Renee Hill's resignation during their speeches.
At one point, a female student-athlete got a chance to speak and became emotional as she expressed the fact that, as a biological female, she had no realistic opportunity to compete with biological males.
“The most faithful woman in any world will never be able to overcome the most faithful man,” she said, choking up.
However, pro-trans activists were also given the opportunity to speak. Many speakers who expressed support for transgender inclusion thanked the Board for allowing the trans athlete to compete with girls and encouraged it to continue to empower and protect that athlete.
One transgender activist went so far as to make a false claim that the XY chromosome is disappearing from the human gene pool and that all humans will eventually be born with an XX chromosome.
Several pro-trans speeches were met with loud cheers and waving of LGBTQ pride flags by attendees.
California has had laws in place to protect transgender athletes in women's sports since 2014. That year, AB 1266 went into effectIt grants California students at both the school and college levels the right to “participate in sex-segregated school programs and activities, including athletic teams and competitions, and to use facilities consistent with their gender identity, regardless of the sex listed on the pupil’s records.”

In a statement previously provided to Fox News Digital, RUSD said it allowed the transgender athlete to compete on the team because he must comply with California law.
“It is important to remember that RUSD is required to follow California law that requires students to be allowed to participate in gender-segregated school programs and activities, including sports teams and competitions that align with their gender identity, regardless of the gender listed on the pupil’s records,” the statement said. .
The school said those who are upset by this should direct their anger at state and federal lawmakers.
“While these matters play out in our courts and in the media, dissent and protests must be directed to those who are in a position to influence those laws and policies, including officials in Washington, D.C., and Sacramento,” the statement said.
