As the January transfer window approaches, Manchester United will be as busy as other clubs strengthening their squad.
They have struggled this season but since the arrival of new coach Ruben Amorim, they finally have some hope for a brighter future with some recent results going their way.
Their latest win over Pep Guardiola's Manchester City came at the Etihad Stadium, thanks to late goals from Bruno Fernandes and Amad Diallo.
However, there are still some weaknesses in the team and they need to address these issues by making changes to their lineup.
Manchester United icon Dwight Yorke has urged the Red Devils to sign Paul Pogba again because he believes he is better than all the midfielders currently in the squad.
After terminating his contract with Juventus, Pogba is a free agent at the moment and signing him would be easier for the Premier League side.
In a conversation with Sportslens.com, as mentioned Daily StarYork said:
“Paul Pogba is better than ours, that's for sure. I don't know if the fans will welcome him back and make life easier for him, that might be the problem he faces.
He added: “Pogba being fit, playing football the way he does, will definitely add value to the team. He's an exciting player. He's a really good talent. He brings a bit of the X factor by being there. He does things that no player can.” Last done.
“I think with the ban, and him being away from football, he'll have a little point to prove. He doesn't drink and obviously looks after himself, so you can bet on a two-year deal. I'll review it. I'm certainly not going to turn my nose up at that.”
“I would really think about it. Why not? When you look at what we have in midfield, Pogba coming into that position would improve things immediately.
Marcus Rashford's next potential destination has been named
Will Paul Pogba return to Manchester United?
Pogba spent six years at Manchester United from 2016 to 2022. He has been a key member of the team for a long time but the jury is still out on him.
The French midfielder has often been inconsistent, but whenever he performs well, he makes a difference for the team.
There are question marks at the moment over his fitness and form since he has been out of the game for some time due to a doping ban.
The World Cup winner can resume playing football from January, and Yorke believes this is the perfect opportunity for the player as well as Manchester United to reconnect again and start a new chapter.
Amorim's side may be looking to part ways with Casemiro and Christian Eriksen soon, and they clearly need new additions in the midfield, but Yorke may be a bit too optimistic with his suggestion that Pogba is the answer.
While Pogba is wanted at the club, Marcus Rashford may leave the club.
