Friedkin's group officially took majority control at Everton, marking the end of Farhad Moshiri's tenure.
The deal, worth more than £400m, makes Everton the 10th Premier League team to come under majority American ownership.
The agreement between Moshiri and the Texas-based Friedkin Group was initially reached on September 23, but final regulatory approval from the Premier League was required before the takeover could be completed.
Led by Chairman Dan Friedkin, the Friedkin Group also owns Italian club Roma.
As part of the new leadership structure, Friedkin is expected to serve as Chairman of Everton, with Mark Watts assuming the role of CEO, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the club.
In an open letter to fans, Friedkin expressed his delight at the acquisition, saying: “I am extremely proud to welcome one of England's most historic football clubs into our global family, the Friedkin Group. Everton represents a proud legacy, and we are honored to become custodians of this great organisation.

“While we are new to the club, we fully understand the vital role Everton plays in local culture, history and Everton life here and around the world.
“We are deeply committed to honoring this legacy while contributing positively to the community, economy and people of this great city.”
Farhad Moshiri, the British-Iranian businessman, first bought a 49.9% stake in Everton in 2016 before increasing his ownership to 94.1% in 2022.
His tenure was marked by significant financial investment but also instability, as Everton struggled on and off the field.
Everton, a club that has not been relegated since the 1953-54 season, has suffered three consecutive years of poor Premier League finishes, finishing 16th, 17th and 15th in the past seasons.
The team is currently ranked sixteenth, and is facing another difficult season under the leadership of coach Sean Dyche.
Representatives of Friedkin's group are expected to attend Everton's next match against second-placed Chelsea at Goodison Park on Sunday.
