Fox News host Sean Hannity calls out House Republicans for a stopgap funding bill passed in an attempt to avoid a government shutdown in his Wednesday opening monologue about Hannity. As of Wednesday, the US national debt — a measure of what American taxpayers hold accountable to the country's creditors — exceeded $36 trillion, and showed no signs of slowing, with a projected deficit of $2 trillion for 2025.
Sean Hannity: Tonight, it looks like Donald Trump will face another Biden-era disaster when he takes office in January. This may include a government shutdown.
Now, this resolution is now ongoing in Congress, is A complete and undiluted disaster. It is difficult after this election to understand that these elected officials believe that government, as usual – the swamp as usual – will continue. it's not. This would fund the government until March, but at what cost? Raise the debt ceiling. at all costs? Why should Donald Trump raise the debt ceiling when that's Joe Biden's problem?
Now, this bill is more than 1,500 pages long. It is spending lavishly on pet projects – let's see, a new bridge in Baltimore along with an additional $100 billion for obscure disaster relief programs and another $10 billion in subsidies to farmers. The resolution also expands Federal bureaucracy, funding a new Office of Communications Spectrum Management and a new National Advisory Committee for Blockchain Deployment.
The spending bill also gives Maryland a group of National Guard combat aircraft. It also transfers ownership of RFK Stadium from the federal government to Washington, DC. Why give them our playground? In other words, you paid for it, and it is a valuable asset owned by American taxpayers. What, given the far left DC Swamp Dwellers?
Now, for some reason, this bill also makes imports of clothing and textiles from Haiti duty-free, but bans lithium batteries from other countries. Explain that. The cherry on top All this constant resolution It is an increase in the salaries of members of Congress. This is correct. I think they worked 138 days, if my math is correct, which is a pay rise that few deserve. For more than a decade, lawmakers have worked an average of about 140 days a year. That's all they do. It's a part time job.
