Boise State is declining Ashton Ginty His Heisman Trophy acceptance speech will end in the same place as Kamala Harris' presidential election victory speech.

Janty, who was a finalist for the award Saturday night, fell just short of Colorado's two-way star Travis Hunter In voting. Genty had the best season of any Boise State in program history and one of the best seasons in college football history.

He believed so strongly in his chances of winning the award, he wrote and rehearsed his acceptance speech and told the world he had done it.

“I rehearsed my speech last night to make sure I'm ready when I get there,” Jeanty told reporters before the ceremony on Saturday.

Hunter received 552 first-place votes, beating Jenny's 309 votes. They were, by far, the top two finishers in voting, and this was the closest vote since 2009.
