Throughout the season, Paul tried to get Mickey back in prison. He switched gears when Lydia briefly showed up to kill Mikey. But when Mickey turned out to be okay, Paul locked him in a secret room in the house and kept him prisoner. By the end of the season, Paul and Lydia's marriage was falling apart over the secrets they kept. they They were able to work things out though When Lydia saw Paul talking to their son about his desire to mend their relationship.

Lydia began to have reservations about selling her house as soon as she noticed the lights flickering on and off in Jacob's room – something she took as a sign that her son was still sending her letters.
