The Argentine government, led by Javier Millie, has announced that it plans to withdraw from the World Health Organization (WHO).
A spokesman for President Miley said that the decision to leave those who are “deep differences regarding health management, especially during the web-19 Web.”
This announcement comes a little more than two weeks after US President Donald Trump signed an executive order to start the withdrawal process from the International Health Authority.
The two leaders expressed their admiration for each other, as Miley described Trump's re -election as “the greatest political return in history”, while the American President described his Argentine counterpart as “my favorite president.”
In an official statement, the Argentine presidential office said that it was “created in 1948 to coordinate the response to global health emergencies, but he failed during the biggest challenge: He called for eternal lock without scientific support during his battle against Covid -19 Cores.”
The statement also argues that “today, evidence indicates that medical prescriptions from the World Health Organization do not work because they are the result of political influence rather than being based on science.”
The Argentine media says they expect President Millie will sign an executive order in the coming days that will start with the withdrawal process from Argentina from the World Health Organization.
Speaking at a press conference, presidential spokesman, Manuel Adurni, said, “We Argentine will not allow the International Authority to interfere in our sovereignty, and even less with our health.”
The spokesman has argued that the exit from the World Health Organization would provide the World Health Organization more flexible to implement the policies designed for its own benefit and manage its money as it saw suitability.
He said that the membership of the World Health Organization costs Argentina about 10 million dollars (8 million pounds) annually.
President Millie, who describes himself as “ancient capital”, has criticized the World Health Organization for some time, but it seems that the idea of leaving the body has gained traction in the following days Donald Trump signed an executive order to urge him to leave the United States from the International Authority.
The head of state appears to share the mutual admiration of each other.
Speaking at a ceremony at the Mar Lago Resort in Trump on the night of their meeting, Milli said that “the winds of freedom) have been blowing much stronger since Trump's victory.”
When journalists were asked on Wednesday if President Miley was planning to withdraw from other international bodies or treaties, the presidential spokesman refused to exclude anything.
“The president is very designed when it comes to making Argentina more than that, so any Argentina link with the bodies that contradict its freedoms, we will do our best to prevent them from interfering in the life of Argentina.”
Environmental activists in Argentina say they fear that the Miley of Trump's footsteps will follow and also put wheels in withdrawing from the climate agreement in Paris – the international treaty that aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
