The Philippine Parliament voted to isolate Vice President Sarah Dotrt after complaints about the alleged corruption.
Deutterie, the daughter of former President Rodrigo Deutrty, was accused of misuse of millions of dollars in public funds The assassination of President Ferdinand “Boungong” threatens Marcus Junior.
She denied the charges and claimed to be a victim of political revenge.
The shock step is widely seen as an escalation of the bitter Dotrt dispute with Marcus, who kept the nation on the edge of months.
A total of 215 out of 306 members of the House of Representatives for dismissal voted, which is much higher than the third threshold necessary for the draft law.
The draft law will now be heard by the 24 -member Senate, which will hold an isolation court.
If convicted, Dutete faces the removal and cancellation of eligibility from the General Office, and the first vice president in the history of the Philippines will be isolated.
He is expected to remain in his position until the Senate presents its ruling.
