Former Liverpool and Tottenham midfielder Danny Murphy has admitted he could see Marcus Rashford achieving success at Arsenal, amid reports that he looks set to leave Manchester United.

The England international has had a pretty miserable run of form the last year or so, despite looking world-class leading up to the 2022/23 season.

Rashford burst onto the scene as a true wonder child at Manchester United, and has certainly had a very good career at Old Trafford overall, especially given the club's various issues and frequent change of managers.

Arsenal is in the mix to sign Bayer Leverkusen's international star!

still, United now look ready to sell Rashford Murphy has backed the 27-year-old to return to his best if he joins a club like Arsenal, who dominate matches more than Manchester United.

Could Marcus Rashford's transfer be a surprise blow for Arsenal?

It may seem unlikely that United would sell a popular homegrown player like Rashford to a rival, however Mikel Arteta would certainly see him as an upgrade over Gabriel Martinelli If he can.

Murphy discussed Rashford's situation talkSPORT He described the Gunners as a potential ideal destination for him.

“I think we have already seen the best of Marcus Rashford, but he is capable of reaching this level again.

I think Ruben Amorim can do it. I think the scenario of him leaving is unrealistic, and I think he will stay and Amorim will benefit more from him.

“He's had one world-class season, his numbers have been fantastic. With the ability he has, I think he's capable of so much more.”

“He was at the club for a long time but the managerial situation was never stable, there was a lot of change.

“If he had been in a better team, a more successful team, under a more competent manager than we saw at United, we might have seen a different result.”

When asked about Arsenal, Murphy added: “You know what, you never know for sure but playing in a team that is so stable, so confident and so competent, there is a case that their end product will improve a lot, because Arsenal are really dominant.” In games.

“You could say Martinelli was a bit hot and cold… There will be some people who will prefer Rashford over Martinelli.”
