Enzo Maresca urged Chelsea lovers not to heavily goalkeeper Robert Sanchez if he started against West Ham on Monday.

Sanchez made mistakes in his last appearances-he was wrong in Wolfs's goal in Stamford Bridge on January 20 and the second decisive of Erling Halland in the 3-1 defeat in Manchester City last Saturday.

While Marisca admitted that he had not yet decided whether he would adhere to Sanchez, or instead resort to a backup copy of Philip Georgessen, he said it is important for fans to support those who obtained a gesture.

He said: “The only thing I can say is that we need the fans. We need them, and the players need them. Because they must trust our direction.

“If you see something that I do not like, I am the first person to accept it. They can be happy in terms of the way they try (players) to work every day, and the way they try to embrace all the situations that we have passed this season. I am sure in the end, we will be There they are fighting for something.

Marcelsa may try to protect Sanchez

Marcelsa hinted that if Sanchez is excluded, it would be for his interest.

“Yes, sometimes this can happen,” he added. “Not only in the Robert case. On the last day, I was reading about (Gianluigi) Donnarumma, and this season was always playing with Paris Saint -Germain, but for some games, Luis Enrique left him. Now, every game plays and does well.

“Sometimes, certainly, it can be a solution but this does not mean that it is in the case of Robert.”

Potter's return

Graham Potter's return to Stamford Bridge for the first time since Chelsea was removed in April 2023 only seven months later.

The 49 -year -old in West Ham took over earlier this month, and Marisca was impressed by what he saw.

He said: “They are very aggressors. I watched the four or five matches with the official Graham. You can see that they are trying to be very aggressive, even in the last match against Aston Villa.

“It will be a difficult game, as always. With the tactical, we still have two days to prepare the game, so we will see.”
