Belgian soccer player Radja Ninjgolan was arrested as part of an investigation into cocaine trafficking.
The 36 -year -old was one of the suspects dumped by the Belgian police on Monday morning, after a series of raids throughout the country.
“The investigation relates to the import of cocaine from South America to Europe, through the port of Antwerp, and re -distributed it in Belgium,” the Brussels Prosecutor's Office said in a statement.
No more information was issued to the public.
The arrest comes just six days after Nainggoan's exit from retirement to sign Lokeren in the Belgian second band.
He scored on his first time, with his team giving a point in their 1-1 draw to K. Lierse.
He was born in Antwerp, the midfielder spent most of his career in Italy, and plays with Roma and Inter Milan.
Between 2009 and 2018, he played 30 games with the national team Belgium.
