After decades, Pakistan is gearing up to host the ICC event, the upcoming 2025 ICC Champions Trophy, which begins on February 19 in Karachi with… IndiaMatches held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Although the stadiums are not ready yet, strong security arrangements are being made in Pakistan.

In a massive security operation, Pakistan Punjab Police has deployed more than 12,664 officers to ensure the safety and security of players and fans in the upcoming 2025 Champions Trophy.

With 7,618 officers allocated to Lahore, 4,535 police personnel will be in charge of security in Rawalpindi. In addition, 411 Special Branch officers will provide additional support to enhance security operations for the upcoming tournament in which eight countries will participate.

It is also said that aerial surveillance will be conducted with the support of Pakistan Army and Rangers to enhance surveillance during the tournament. Even the roads leading to the venues will be closely monitored with Safe City cameras, providing real-time monitoring to prevent any accidents.

On the other hand, Sindh Police is taking proactive steps to ensure security as Karachi will host the opening ceremony and inaugural tournament apart from the upcoming ODI Tri-Series.

According to a police spokesman, the commissioner has already held meetings to personally supervise the security arrangements at the National Stadium in Karachi.

“Plans are being made, and at least 5,000 or more security personnel, including units from the Sindh Police, will be deployed to monitor matches, on the roads, and in team hotels,” PTI quoted a police spokesman as saying.

The Pakistan Cricket Board appears to have sensed the security threat, as at least 17,000 security personnel will be deployed to attend the 2025 Cricket Champions Trophy in Karachi, Lahore and Rawalpindi, despite India not crossing the border to attend the prestigious tournament.

Meanwhile, after a long wait of eight years, the ICC Champions Trophy is back and, after much drama, the tournament is set to kick off in Pakistan and Dubai next month. Eight top difference From last year's ODI World Cup 2023 they will be competing for the coveted title.
