“I've probably left out a hundred other instances of this trauma in my life. For comparison, I ask white people, how many times have you seen a white man murdered in cold blood on camera on your newsfeed? How many times have you even seen that? Heard about that?” Bowman asked.
“The answer is never. You never have. And whenever you are disturbed by your whiteness, black people are hurt or killed. There is never accountability or justice. This is the evil of white supremacy. It extends across geography and political parties and I declare it disgusts us all.” I hope To not have to live with all this trauma deep in my bones. I wish I could be free to be me. I admire the beauty and greatness of my people despite white supremacy. It's unusual. This is what I will continue to rely on.”
