Harry Maguire feels Manchester United's problems are not about tactics, and claimed the players are “not mentally focused”.
United coach Ruben Amorim described his side as “possibly the worst in the club's history” after defeat to Brighton at the weekend.
The Portuguese clarified today that he was referring to his own efforts since replacing Erik ten Hag in NovemberInstead of criticizing the players, experienced defender Maguire insisted they should shoulder their share of the blame.

United have trailed in each of their last five league games and conceded the opening goal within five minutes three times.
Speaking ahead of tomorrow's Europa League match against Rangers at Old Trafford, Maguire said: “If I could explain it, we would change it straight away.
He added: “We have players who have won a lot of titles at club level, but we are not playing well as a team.
“Brighton gave us a goal. We talked about that before the game. The first goal against Nottingham Forest was from a free kick, and the first goal against Bournemouth.
“These are not things that are a problem tactically. You have to be mentally prepared to win the game. At the moment we are not getting small margins because we are not mentally focused.”
It will be a tough test for Rangers – Maguire
Victory over Rangers would guarantee United a place in the knockout stages, but Maguire is not expecting an easy night against the men from north of the border.
He added: “We expect a difficult match, and we know that they will come here and give everything they have and provide great support.
“They performed very well in the competition so we expect a tough game but we will focus on ourselves and make sure we perform well after a tough defeat at the weekend.
He added: “We will enter the match with confidence in our ability to perform well and get the three points.”
