president Donald Trump Russia threatened on Wednesday to impose “high levels” of sanctions on Russia and customs duties on imports from it if it did not reach a settlement to end its war against Ukraine.

Trump's warning, which he posted on social media, called out Russian President Vladimir Putin by name.

“Let's end this war, which would never have started if I were president! We can do it the easy way, or the hard way – and the easy way is always better,” Trump wrote in a message to Truth Social.

“It's time to make a deal.” No more lives should be lost!!!”
