In a world where it's common for stars and athletes to last a long time, it's commendable that Diaz decided to take her money, invest in businesses she believes in, and choose to live the life she wants. But now she's back alongside one of her best friends, Jamie Foxx back to work, A throwback Netflix comedy that without Diaz would have been completely forgettable.

Back to work You will get lost in a sea of… Netflix The originals without the added attention of Diaz returning. While Matt and Emily are married to ex-spies who live under fake identities while raising their children, Fox and Diaz shine in what is essentially… Mr. and Mrs. Smith If they have a healthy relationship. After showing off at a nightclub, the duo's cover is blown, and a race begins to recover the Industrial Control System (or ICS, which is still a fun way to spell “Mcguffin”) while keeping their children safe.

He joins the ever-delightful duo of Kyle Chandler and Glenn Close, in what is hardly her character's revenge on… red But it may be because she once again has a sniper rifle and a license to kill. Surprisingly, the cast doesn't include top-to-bottom all-stars, but given how Back in Action ended, it's clear that Netflix already has plans in place for a sequel. Whether this is a good thing or not depends entirely on how you feel about old-school action comedies.

Cameron Diaz is still a star

Cameron Diaz in Back to work

Back to work It suffers from being a Netflix movie, with the same standard awkward lighting in every scene and the need for the characters to actively talk about what they're doing, just in case someone isn't actually watching the movie but it plays as background noise. compared to Red Noticeanother star-studded spy adventure where Foxx and Diaz's adventure easily excels, but it's thin and unimportant. There's no weight to the stakes, and everyone might as well wink at the camera when delivering goofy technical lines about ICS, but given that the film has been at number one since its debut, it's clearly found an audience.

Holding onto the top spot as the most popular movie on Netflix since its debut, Back to work It's unoriginal, full of barely drawn characters, the weakest villain motivations, and cheap-looking special effects, and yet it's an absolute blast. It's similar to Rush Hour Trilogy In that the charm and star power of the main characters elevates the rest of the film. Cameron Diaz hasn't missed a step, and at 52, she could have a second job in Hollywood with the same success as her first.

If it came out 10 years ago Back to work It could have been released in theaters, but during Diaz's hiatus, the entertainment landscape has changed, and Netflix originals have the budget and star power of major theatrical releases. Most movie fans will agree that this isn't a change for the better, and as much as it's fun to see Cameron Diaz again, you can't help but wonder if we missed something special. Then again, 46.8 million people have already watched the movie on Netflix, so despite the lackluster release, it's still a huge hit.
