Garnacho has mostly been a regular starter for United, and looks like a promising young talent who could have a big future in the game, although it is also perhaps easy to see why the club would be tempted to cash in on him.
The 20-year-old has not been consistent enough, as things stand telegraph He hinted that there are some question marks about his temperament.
A transfer deal for Alejandro Garnacho could suit all parties
Even if some United fans are unsure about selling such a great young player midway through the season, it could end up being better for all involved.
For United, it gives them money to work with in the transfer market, and a significant profit on a player who previously signed for their academy.
This could then allow Ruben Amorim to invest in other areas, or replace Garnacho with someone who would be a better fit for his system.
At the same time, it could also be for the best for the player himself, as a fresh start could be what he needs to revive his career after suffering a dip in form for United this season.
Many other top talents have also struggled at Manchester United in the challenging post-Sir Alex Ferguson era, so Garnacho should not be ashamed that he also feels he needs to look elsewhere to get back on track.
