Rogers flew from Oklahoma to Houston, where she stopped before heading to the nation's capital on Sunday.

“Before we took off, (the flight attendant) said, 'I just want to ask, is there anyone on this flight who's going to the inauguration?' “Everyone started cheering.”

“Being on the plane and then (the crew) playing (the YMCA), it was totally unexpected, but it was a lot of fun,” she added.
“I think everyone is really optimistic…with expectations of what the next four years will bring, and everyone was really united in that moment and that song, even though it doesn't necessarily have a political meaning behind it, because it's like a Trump song, we all came together.” “And we felt very lonely.”

When Rogers arrived in Washington, D.C., she woke up at 3 a.m. on Inauguration Day and stood in line for five hours in the freezing cold before entering Capital One Arena to watch the ceremony.
She said the YMCA continued to follow her around the city with people playing the song over loudspeakers and others performing the “Trump dance” on the streets of the capital.
