One-of-a-kind signed first MLB patch card Pittsburgh Pirates Pitcher Paul Skenes is no longer on the market.

An 11-year-old collector from Southern California decided to pull a card that appeared in the 2024 Topps Chrome Update set.

Skinnies card named 2024 National League Rookie of the Yearattracted significant attention when it was unveiled by the trading card and collectible manufacturer in November.

Shortly after the card was made public, hackers became vocal about getting it.

While any card signed by Skenes carries some value, First patch for MLB The edition is a unique piece, making it highly sought after.

The Pirates offered a long package of perks in exchange for the card. Among the team's offerings were a pair of premium three-year Pirates season tickets, a meet-and-greet with Skenes and autographed jerseys.

Despite the recent turn of events, the Buccaneers have maintained that the team is still prepared to honor the offer.

LSU gymnast Livvy Dunne, who is dating Skenes, added another incentive for whoever finds the card.

Skines, 22, had a memorable season in 2024, finishing 11-3 with a 1.96 ERA and 170 strikeouts.

Before winning the NL Rookie of the Year award, Skenes was named to the MLB All-Star team. Skenes was the top pick in the 2023 MLB Draft and made his major league debut in May.

Rookies wore the first MLB patches on their jerseys since 2023. Topps acquired the patches and created the unique cards.
