US President Donald Trump said he is considering imposing 10% tariffs on imports of Chinese-made goods by February 1.
Trump said discussions with his administration “are based on the fact that they are sending fentanyl to Mexico and Canada.”
This came in the wake of Trump's threats to impose 25% import taxes on Mexico and Canada, accusing them of allowing illegal immigrants and drugs into the United States.
On his first day in office, the new president also instructed federal agencies to conduct a review of current trade deals and identify unfair practices by US trading partners.
