Manchester United have reportedly asked Crystal Palace about terms for defender Tyrick Mitchell, who has emerged as a potential signing for the left-back.
The Red Devils are exploring a move for a new left-back before the January transfer window closes on February 3.
With financial constraints, the club may have to bring in the likes of Marcus Rashford and Anthony before freeing up any significant funds, allowing them to reinvest in the squad.
Manchester United transfer update: Personal terms have been agreed with the 138-goal striker
Mitchell is believed to be an option for United, as are Lecce's Patrick Dorgou and Paris Saint-Germain's Nuno Mendes.
Ruben Amorim has Luke Shaw sidelined through injury and Terell Malasia is struggling with fitness and form, with the latter widely expected to leave Old Trafford before the transfer window closes.
Diogo Dalot has slotted in on the left flank but his preferred role remains on the right side of defence.
The 25-year-old is a Crystal Palace academy graduate and has made 154 appearances in the English Premier League. In that time he contributed three goals and made 11 assists. He has started all 22 of Palace's Premier League matches so far this season and there is no indication how much Palace want the left-back.
Manchester United opens talks with Lisi over Patrick Dorgou
Fabrizio Romano revealed United have opened discussions about a potential deal for Durgu.
The Italian reporter shared the latest update on Xformerly known as Twitter. “Talks have already begun between the clubs with Manchester United officials to hold a direct meeting with Lecce this week. Ruben Amorim has also agreed to Dorgu; he is a strong candidate in the list, as was exclusively revealed two weeks ago.”
However, United are believed to face competition from Premier League rivals Chelsea and Liverpool. And so is Naples.
Dorgo, who recently extended his contract with Lecce until 2029, has become a regular at the Serie A club, making 22 appearances in all competitions this season.
