Just hours ago President Donald Trump Swearing in on Monday, a migrant caravan of more than 2,000 people set off from deep south Mexico with the aim of crossing into the United States.

The caravan, made up of men, women and children from various countries, was seen traveling through the southern Mexican city of Tapachula near the Guatemalan border early Monday. The migrants were carrying bags and backpacks while migrant parents could be seen pushing their children in strollers or carrying their children on their shoulders.

It is at least the 10th largest caravan to emerge from Tapachula since the US election, Border reports. It would take an adult migrant about 16 days of non-stop walking to reach the southern border.

Trump deploys military forces to the border and ends Biden's parole policies in a flurry of executive orders on Day One

The caravan is moving despite Trump signing a wave of Executive orders Monday Suppression of illegal immigration. He also declared a state of emergency on the national borders.

In one order, Trump directed the federal government to resume construction of the border wall, which had been largely dormant under the Biden administration. The order also ended Biden-era parole policies, including the use of the CBP One application to parole immigrants into the U.S.

Erquin Torres, a migrant from Colombia in the caravan, said he believes Trump's actions cannot replace the United Nations, citing what he believes is his right to seek asylum.

“Just as Donald Trump is in power, he cannot transcend the world United Nationsunderstand? “United as one team,” Torres told Reuters.

“The world is full and supports us because the issue is one: improving economic stability and providing a better future for these children there.”

Another immigrant, Maria Ledis from Cuba, said the new U.S. government will still provide a path for migrants to enter the United States even though CBP One is no longer working.

“Well, we feel very sad because our goal is to get in, and knowing that they won't let us in breaks our hearts,” she told Reuters. “But we believe that if it’s not through CBP One, it will go another way, and we will get in.”

Migrants form caravans because they believe there is safety in numbers, it is difficult or impossible For immigration agents to detain large groups of hundreds of migrants. Some are hoping to ride horses to help them on their journey, while others make the arduous journey to the southern border on foot in the scorching heat.

Many of the caravans break up after a few days of walking, while the Mexican government says it is trying to break them up as well, amid Trump's promise to impose huge tariffs on Mexico if it does not stop the flow.

Elsewhere, migrants waiting for an app appointment were stranded at various locations along the Mexican side of the southern border.

In addition to canceling CBP One, Trump also ordered government agencies to restart it Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP)known as the Remain in Mexico Policy. That policy since Trump's first term, which was ended by the Biden administration, required migrants to remain in Mexico for the duration of their asylum hearings.

Another order directed to the deployment of American forces in border Under US Northern Command to prioritize US borders and territorial integrity in strategic planning.

President Trump has also listed cartels and international organizations, including MS-13 and the bloodthirsty Tren de Aragua, as foreign terrorist organizations (FTOs) and Specially Designated Global Terrorists (SDGTs). Foreign terrorist organization designation allows for targeted actions against members, including financial sanctions.
