“This is not going to be easy,” Rubio said. “It will be impossible without a strong, confident America that engages in the world and puts our core national interests, once again, above all else.”

Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., who has been an outspoken supporter of reducing U.S. intervention, also questioned Rubio's hardline stance on U.S. intervention amid his confirmation as secretary of state.
