Tottenham have officially announced that young striker Dane Scarlett has been recalled from his loan at Oxford United, as the club faces a difficult Premier League season and a growing injury crisis.

Tottenham occupies fifteenth place in the English Premier League standings with only 24 points after 22 matches. After winning just seven matches and suffering 12 defeats, the north London club is experiencing one of its worst seasons in recent history.

The latest setback came in a 3-2 loss to relegation-threatened Everton. Despite late goals from Dejan Kulusevski and Richarlison, Tottenham were unable to recover from a disastrous first half that saw Everton score three times under new manager David Moyes.

The defeat increased the pressure on Tottenham coach Ange Postecoglou, whose tactics and leadership faced sharp criticism. However, injuries to key players severely affected his ability to field a competitive team.

Tottenham's injury list includes vital players such as Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero in defence, and Ben Davies, winger Wilson Odubert and summer signing Dominic Solanke in attack.

The injury crisis prompted Ange to urge the club to make necessary additions to the squad, admitting that the players needed help following Everton's defeat.
