NHL legend Wayne Gretzky was spotted in Donald Trump He will be inaugurated on Monday as the incoming president teased “The Great One” as Canada's next leader.

While Trump was teasing Canadian lawmakers about making the country the “51st state” of the United States, Trump said he asked Gretzky to become “Governor of Canada.”

“I was with Wayne Gretzky. And I said to him, 'Wayne, would you like to be governor of Canada?' “I can't imagine anyone better than Wayne,” Trump said at a news conference at Mar-a-Lago earlier this month.

Trump added: “Wayne wasn't very interested. But he might have wanted to establish a state.” “He's a friend of mine. He's a great guy. He's the great guy. We call him the great guy, right? He's a great hockey player.”

Gretzky didn't seem to be affected one way or the other.
