Manchester United are focusing on Wolves left-back Rayan Ait Nouri As their first transfer target in this position as Nuno Mendes is no longer available.
Sources familiar with the situation reported Caught out Manchester United have abandoned their attempt to sign Mendes, who is instead expected to sign a new contract at Paris Saint-Germain.
The Red Devils were really interested in the Portuguese internationalBut Ait Nouri is another player who has impressed as a fit for Ruben Amorim's side.
The 23-year-old has impressed during his time in the Premier League, and this is not the first time he has been on the radar of top clubs, with the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool also eyeing him recently.
still, Caught out United understands that United are now making Ait Nouri a priority, with Wolves potentially open to letting the Algeria international go for around €55-60m.
Manchester United must pay for Rayan Ait Nouri
If United can get a talent like Ait Nouri for that kind of price, it would certainly be a good deal for the club, even if they need to be a little careful with their money.
Sources have indicated that MUFC could also explore lowering that price by including Luke Shaw or Tyrell Malacia as part of the deal, although it remains to be seen if this is something Wolves would consider.
Ait Nouri looks like a fairly safe bet, even if he's not cheap, as he is young enough that he can still continue to improve, while also having Premier League experience.
His defensive abilities and going forward should also make him an ideal wing-back in Amorim's tactical system, and it's hard to imagine there are many other players who might be better suited to this role.
Wolves could be in a relegation battle this season, so that could mean they reject offers for key players in January, leaving interested clubs to wait until the summer.
