“Thank you very much for your support and I will see you in the next round,” Djokovic said before signing some autographs and leaving the court.

Korir explains Djokovic's situation

Jim Courier on Eurosport:

“He didn't feel like chatting. I had no idea it was going to happen. There's no obligation on the players to do that.

“It's an opportunity for them to talk to the people in the stadium and the fans watching the game around the world.

“At first, I thought sometimes if a player was injured, or had cramps, he might not do it, but I don't think that's the case.”

Djokovic spoke later Eurosport On his match though: “I felt great. I had a few hiccups and a loose game when I broke him in the third. After that I had chances to break him but every time I had the chance he served hard.

“I dealt with the pressure moments and played some great points at the end.”

How did Djokovic beat Lehica?

The match had a cautious start, as the first six games were divided before Djokovic increased the speed of his strikes and took a 5-3 lead before clinching the set.

Djokovic broke his opponent's serve immediately at the beginning of the second set and maintained this advantage throughout the match, while Lehica committed several unforced errors.

Things changed in the third period when Lehica, after being broken again early in the third period, responded to break himself free and regain his rhythm.

Djokovic was unable to take advantage of the opportunities he had to break the serve, so the set ended in a 5-5 draw, amidst the annoyance of the Serbian audience, who began to defend between serves.
