England captain Heather Knight He remains optimistic despite the difficult path ahead after Australia completed a clean sweep of the ODIs in the 2025 Women's Ashes.

The 86-run victory in Hobart gave the Australians a commanding 6-0 lead in the multi-format series. To regain the Ashes, England must win all three of the next T20Is and the one-off Test.

“It will be difficult” Knight admitted in a recent interview. “But we've been here before. The last Ashes series was 6-0, and we've managed to turn things around. We're still alive, we're still in it, and we've got to keep believing.”

Missed opportunities in Hobart ODI

England displayed their best performance of the series in Hobart, initially reducing Australia to 59 for four. However, they faltered in crucial moments with both bat and ball, allowing the hosts to post a terrifying total. Despite parity midway through their chase, England failed to capitalize.

“We have to maintain our composure.” Knight noted. “In those crucial moments when the game was on the line, Australia were able to handle it really well, whereas we couldn't seize the moment and make any progress.”
