Richard Sherman knows Pete Carroll better than most. The former Seattle Seahawks player and Carroll went to back-to-back Super Bowls in 2013 and 2014. To this day, Carroll holds the only Super Bowl win in franchise history.

On Thursday's edition of “Up and Adams,” Sherman endorsed Carroll for fixing everything that's wrong with the Bears, including one sticking point he believes isn't seen as enough.

(0:11) “I think he'll get a coaching job just because he's a culture builder,” Sherman said. “And I think everyone has gotten into this nice mentality of our offensive genius, our defensive genius, and they've forgotten about building a team culture, and it's built with young midfielders.

“He's built with quarterbacks who have been cut. He's built defenses. All the pieces are in place for him to be truly successful.”

Of course, one could argue with the Seahawks winning 10 games under rookie head coach Mike McDonald this season, Carroll's exit wasn't far from destroying the organization. As such, one might wonder what effect it would have on the bears if it reached the Windy City.

A potential coach will have a lot of things going on and not a lot of time to get them done. On top of his initial duties, he will need to change the culture in the building and change everything else he sees out of line around the organization from top to bottom to elevate the team as he did with Seattle Seahawks.

If hired in January, he would then need to hire an offensive and defensive coordinator. Next, he will need to hire additional coaches.

Next, Pete Carroll will need to figure out his recommendations for the NFL Draft and communicate them to general manager Ryan Bowles. After that, he will need to work through online travel agencies and make plans for training camp.

After all that is accomplished, Carroll will need to figure out how to reach players in the changeup format. At the same time, he will need to know what can be done Caleb Williams And what not. After that, he can work on the scheme for the 2025 season.

The scheme could be his greatest contribution to the team and perhaps their greatest hope of defeating the Detroit Lions quickly, Minnesota Vikings And the Green Bay Packers are in the divisional race.

Simply put, if appointed, it will take Carroll a fun-filled few months before he is in a position to make spin-off plans for the 2025-26 season. In other words, this may be all Carroll can do to tread water in 2025.
