If Republicans in Congress are determined to deliver on our promises of a thriving economy and stable prices, we would be wise to quickly resolve the crisis. Disastrous energy policies imposed by the Biden-Harris regime on one of the most important American industries.

President Biden is using his final days in office to rub salt into the wounds of the United States US energy sector. Most recently, the Biden-Harris administration implemented another offshore drilling ban on more than 625 million acres of U.S. shorelines. He used an obscure 1953 law to ban all future leases in restricted coastal areas, making it extremely difficult for the incoming Trump administration to reverse course.

President Biden isn't just ignoring him American voters By imposing another harmful energy policy after his party lost the White House, but he is also making it more difficult for President Trump to restore the US economy and ease inflation.

The Biden-Harris administration has seized every opportunity to make fossil fuel-based energy production more expensive — knowing that high energy prices cause inflation and slow economic growth.

Ban President Biden Keystone XL PipelineWhich led to the killing of thousands of American jobs. He issued more than 125 executive measures canceling lease contracts and halting the development of new energy sources. It also banned the development of all new LNG export terminals in the United States, putting several facilities in Louisiana at risk. His administration has done everything it can to saddle American energy producers with costly new regulations.

It was the anti-energy policies of the Biden-Harris administration that led to inflation over the past four years. As of December, the average American was paying 29% more for electricity and 31% more for gasoline compared to prices during President Biden's first month in office. Families in Louisiana paid nearly $1,000 more to keep the lights on and their tanks filled in 2024 alone.

Rising energy and gas prices have also made businesses more expensive to operate. If a grocery store pays 29% more to maintain its refrigeration system and 31% more for the fuel needed to transport products, the company will have no choice but to raise prices on everything else. That's why Louisiana residents are paying $1,500 more a year on groceries than they did before President Biden took office.

The only way our country will emerge from President Biden's high prices is for our economy to grow quickly, but we know that high energy prices slow economic growth.

President Trump will need every tool at his disposal to bounce back American energy Independence and laying the foundation for the future. Congress can help. We must demand that the Home Office approve more rental sales, especially abroad. Management is supposed to adhere to a schedule of at least two rental sales per year. The Biden-Harris administration did not conduct any rental sales last year.

Current federal regulations also lengthen the permit approval process and cripple LNG and oil producers. Congress could reform the bureaucratic permitting process to reduce unnecessary judicial review and make reviews simultaneous rather than sequential.

In 2019, presidential candidate Biden told activists: “I guarantee you we will end fossil fuels.” Now, Americans' real wages have not yet caught up with inflation, and Russia has overtaken us as the largest supplier of liquefied natural gas to the European Union.

It will take a comprehensive effort to dismantle all of President Biden's destructive energy policies, and Republicans in Congress must be willing to take the shackles off American energy.
